Presumably aimed at parents as much as kids, a Lego set based on the 1960s Batman TV series will be on the shelves very soon.
The set has been unveiled to celebrate 50 years since the TV series hit the small screen (January 1966) and the end product really is something special. A 2,526-piece Batcave / Wayne Manor set, along with a vintage Batmobile, Batcopter and Batcycle. Yes, it’s the retro dream.
The detail is amazing too. Check out the red emergency Batphone (under the Shakespeare bust), the sliding false bookcase, the Batpoles, the rest of the Bat-gadgets that wonderful Batmobile in all its glory and of course, the all-important Minifigures of Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Alfred, Catwoman, the Riddler, the Joker and the Penguin, with weapons for all the villains.
It’s the perfect Lego set for parents (and grandparents) to enjoy with the kids and let’s be honest, there is nothing better than playing Lego with the kids. Great for display too.
It should be available in March, with the US price at $270. Presumably the UK price will be the equivalent of £186 and the set is age 14 and up.
