This is so great. Want to pass on your love for vinyl to your kids? Invest in this Third Man Records vintage-style record player for kids and you can do just that.
It is a special edition, produced to coincide with the release of the This Record Belongs To compilation from Light In The Attic. That’s a collection of tunes that have been enjoyed by the children of staff at Third Man Records, an album said to promote ‘a love of music, reading, and a passion for teaching future generations the interactive experience of holding an album in your hands, putting needle to groove, and immersing yourself in the pages of a record’s sleeve as the music plays’.
The latter part of that is down to the album being accompanied by an original, full-colour storybook (where five forest friends discover the beauty of vinyl records), complete with illustrations from acclaimed artist Jess Rotter.
If you want the album, you can pre-order it here.
The record player is the accompanying piece, a child-friendly player to use with the records – and any other record your kids might have. The vintage-style suitcase record player is made by Jensen and features images of Manny, the Third Man mascot. It also has three speeds, built-in speakers, a USB port for converting vinyl records to digital and an automatic return tone arm. A Manny t-shirt and sticker finishes off the package.
Note easy to find, but you can order one in the UK from Piccadilly Records, priced at £105.99.
