Your children might not appreciate it when they are small, but when they get a little bigger, they’ll know you’ve invested quite shrewdly in some cool midcentury design after picking up this Vitra Elephant Seat by Charles and Ray Eames.

In the meantime, they’ll have an elephant – a cute one that doubles up as a toy or a seat (as well as a nice bit of interior design for your house). Charles and Ray Eames designed it back in 1945 as part of their experiments with three-dimensional plywood shapes, but thankfully the latest version (for practicality and for outdoor use) is now made in plastic and in a choice of many different shades.

£156 is the price.
